Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin (Clic here Wiki) (7 June 1848 – 8 May 1903) was a leading Post-Impressionist painter. His bold experimentation with colouring led directly to the Synthetist style of modern art while his expression of the inherent meaning of the subjects in his paintings, under the influence of the cloisonnist style, paved the way to Primitivism and the return to the pastoral. He was also an influential exponent of wood engraving and woodcuts as art forms.^[1][2]

Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin (Clic aquí Wiki) (París, 7 de junio de 1848 - Atuona, Islas Marquesas, 9 de mayo de 1903) fue un pintor posimpresionista. Jefe de filas de la Escuela de Pont-Aven e inspirador de los Nabis, su obra está considerada entre las más importantes de entre los pintores franceses del Siglo XIX.

Sus experimentos sobre el color y el conjunto de su obra influyeron en la evolución de la pintura, en especial sobre el fauvismo, movimiento que se desarrolla entre 1898 y 1908.
