Las Parrandas - festival - Cuba - Remedios - 2005
The photo book Las Parrandas tells the story of a unique festival in Remedios, Cuba, on the day before Christmas. Two neighbourhoods compete: El Carmen and San Salvador. Both parties make a construction, called `trabajo de plaza`, and set off a gigantic fireworks display that almost looks like war! The show takes ages and thousands of skyrockets are shot into the air. Self published, 64 pages.
