REMARKS:
GOANI is one the most remarkable compositions ever made by our very own Sir Frank Englis. This is undeniably one of the "signature song" of OCTAVA CHORAL SOCIETY.
Under the influence of Maranao music and rhythm, the song was arranged in 4 voices [SATB] and has a total duration of about 9 minutes. This video is just a glimpse of this outstanding composition.
This song actually depicts the scenario of a typical muslim community.
This song wowed both the audiences and the judges in 1983. This was the very song that made them won 1st Place - CHAMPION for NAMCYA College Level Category in the year 1983 as spearheaded by Madame Imelda Marcos.
Octava's achievement in 1983 gave them the chance to represent the country during the 1st International Music Festival held at CCP,Manila in 1984.
FYI: This song was also performed by the UP Concert Chorus in an International Competition a year after OCTAVA won. In addition, the UPCC won 1st Place on that competition under the direction of the late REY PAGUIO - former Choir Director UP Concert Chorus.

We are very much HONORED to have undergone choral singing with you Sir Frank. Your patience and efforts to keep Octava's flame burning is priceless.
Through the years, you had trained many young hopefuls in the field choral singing. Despite our shortcomings, you NEVER failed us. You had developed us into SOMEONE which is of one advantage than any other unique individual - this is because we have MUSIC that others don't have. In behalf of EVERYONE: THANK YOU VERY MUCH SIR FRANK!
